Not long ago, I was what the world might have called successful. A great job, a beautiful wife and son, a nice home, money in my pocket, and my band was playing rock n roll to packed houses all over the Hampton Roads area. But I was lost and on my way to an eternity in Hell. One Halloween in 1995, I was handed a bag of treats by a local church that contained a Gospel tract. When I read the Gospel inside, the Lord convicted my heart of who I really was – a sinner. The next Sunday I stepped inside a church for only the second time in my life. That morning, I gave my life to Christ and now I know why Paul said in Philippians 3:7 I once thought all these things were so very important, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.(NLT) As a performer, manager, vocalist, and guitarist in secular music for many years my music is influenced by the sounds of southern and classic rock. In 1997, at the age of 32, I began writing and performing Christian music as a result of encouragement from a Christian brother. Initially, I wanted to write just a few songs to perform in my home church, but the Lord has really surpassed those expectations! Keep The Promise has released 4 full length CDs reaching an audience of believers and unbelievers alike. Through prayer and diligent study of Gods Word, my understanding of Gods will for my life culminated in my ordination as an evangelist and minister of the Gospel on November 16, 2002. The ordination was officiated and administered jointly by Crossroads Community Church and Beyond Our Walls Ministries. There was a time when I thought the only way I could speak in front of a crowd was with a guitar in one arm. I have found the Bible to be Gods greatest instrument and it is a privilege to use His Word to proclaim the Good News to a lost and dying world.
